IBT Installation
In September 2003, 4,000 members, retirees and supporters of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) gathered in Washington, DC to celebrate the union's 100th Anniversary. In conjunction with the anniversary celebration, on a tight schedule, Podium Arts founder Joseph Finneran design directed, produced and managed the installation of a semi-permanent exhibition at the union's Washington, DC headquarters. The project featured 14 distinct exhibits, including customized interactive kiosks, multimedia displays, large format graphics, fabricated steel exhibitry and architecturally integrated specialty lighting. The multi-function kiosks enabled the capture and display of audio histories from visitors and featured an electronic postcard system, allowing users to send their own commemorative postcards to friends and family, integrated with the Teamsters.org website. The units also presented an archive collection of important historical speeches and audio memorabilia from the IBT's first 100 years.
